Through support from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure and the British Council Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland has been represented at the Venice Biennale since 2005.
Participation at the
Venice Biennale can be a career-defining event for artists and curators. Their success on this international stage, before thousands of visitors, also reflects on the positive international status of Northern Ireland as an ambitious creative and cultural region. Successive exhibitions on this world stage show Northern Ireland as a creative nation capable of consistently producing artists whose work can stand alongside the best in the world.
