Northern Ireland’s first outing, in 2005, saw a group exhibition by the best of a new generation of artists to emerge from this region. Curated by Hugh Mulholland, the exhibition featured work by Patrick Bloomer, Patrick Keogh, Ian Charlesworth, Factotum, Seamus Harahan, Michael Hogg, Sandra Johnston, Mary McIntyre, Katrina Moorhead, William McKeown, Darren Murray, Aisling O’Beirn, Peter Richards and Alistair Wilson.
Their participation reflected Northern Ireland’s growing ‘internationalism’, and many of these artists have gone on to achieve major recognition beyond our shores.

This exhibition built on the success of Northern Ireland’s 2005 exhibition and attracted more than 40,000 visitors.
